Patriarch El Rai'e visiting Iqrit

Patriarch Bishara Elraie arrived for a short visit to Iqrit village with a large group of priests to express solidarity towards Palestinian Christians in the state of Israel.


Iqrit meets Pope Francis

Five Palestinian families lunched with Pope Francis at Casa Nova, a traditional Palestinian guesthouse run by the Franciscan order. As they broke bread together, the families had the opportunity to share with him stories of how Israel’s military occupation and treatment of Palestinian citizens of Israel has affected their lives.

George and Shadia Sbait, and their children Caisar, 13, and Nicole, 15, were selected to represent the plight of Palestinian Christian villagers from Iqrith and Kufur Biri’im, who have been displaced by Israel for 66 years.


Easter Mass in Iqrit

The people of Iqrit arrived to the old Church of their displaced village to pray on Easter, as they do for the last 6 decades. Hundreds of guests arrived to the village to support their ongoing struggle.

Christmas Mass



On Christmas evening 1951, the Israeli army destroyed the village of Iqrit, except the Church, since that day the Christmas of Iqrit became a memorial day of the village demolition.
